Set against the background of war crimes and the execution of every male person of Anogeia who would happen to be within the village and around it to a distance of a kilometre, a carefree romantic holiday on Crete with a fellow student starts to turn sour for Tom when the long memories held by the islanders begin to boil over. Their savage treatment by the Germans in WW2 comes to the surface and anger erupts on both sides.
