    Praise for: Love at War

This is a wonderful engrossing war time romance!

We follow our main character, Anna, at 18 looking for her first job after the death of her father to help support her family. She is in a relationship with Davy, the boy next door who she has been friends with for several years. But when she starts her job as a typist she catches the eye of a captain and a lieutenant and things get complicated from there.

I throughly enjoyed reading this and it kept me wanting more. The story moved at a good pace which kept me engaged throughout.

I loved the cast of characters and their varying relationship dynamics. I wanted to know more than we were told sometimes, which was a little frustrating.

Overall, this was a great historical romance!

    ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

As soon as I started to read Love at War by Jill Barry, I felt myself within the same character following Anna. I also like the inclusion of how women were treated from this period in the 1940s. It is fascinating to see how Anna works her way in the office at the beginning of the book. I also like Anna's relationship with her mother and how we can see a real-life one with concern and emotions getting high sometimes. Charles and Geoffrey how these two men are very different but all good friends due to their commentary. How they are both so different and how they both make you laugh. The pacing of this book is spot-on and keeps you engaged with the story. You can feel a connection to Anna and what happens in her life as we follow her through her job.

I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in wartime historical fiction/romance.

I admire how Geoff is a highly loving and caring person, especially about Anna. I had some laugh-out-loud moments too. I felt many more heartfelt moments from this book, and these are only some of what I would highly recommend and buy again.

Please go and check out Love is War by Jill Barry. It is a fantastic book, and I have given it five out of five stars.
